Common questions about insurance and temporary kitchens
Does home insurance cover temporary kitchen hire?
Most home insurance policies with alternative accommodation or temporary accommodation cover will pay for a temporary kitchen pod while your kitchen is repaired. Check your policy wording for “alternative accommodation” or “loss of use” clauses. If unsure, call your insurer directly and ask.
What damage types are covered?
Kitchen damage from floods, burst pipes, fire, and sewage leaks is most commonly covered. Gradual wear or planned renovation is generally not covered by insurance. Your loss adjuster will confirm eligibility.
How do I get an insurer-approved quote?
Request a quote from any provider below stating it is for an insurance claim. They will supply a formally formatted document you can submit to your insurer or loss adjuster directly.
How long does installation take?
Most providers install within 2–3 hours of delivery. Emergency delivery can often be arranged within 24 hours.
Can I stay at home during repairs?
Yes — this is the main benefit of a temporary kitchen pod. Unlike hotel stays, you remain in your home with full cooking facilities on your driveway.
